January came in with so much fog, with Mars and Mercury both retrograde, carriying energies that disrupt communciation, words, energy, and the smooth flow of interaction from one point to another. This writer, in particular, wrote an early version of this forecast, only to lose the file in some digital jungle, where it now seems like its beyond retrieval. An inevitable arduos task of repeating the writing task had to commence, resulting in an inexcusable delay that drove a necessary lesson right to the mark. Such is the nature of retrogrades. Feelings of urgency reach unbearable heights, and we mere mortals feel like we have no choice but to jump on our feet and succumb to the rush. Everyone feels like they need to push forward, to move to speak to talk, resulting in a chaotic mess of wasted time, mostly attributed to crowded lines, and hasty executions of plans.
January carries with it two sides of the same coin. One side, the first half, filled with these little mishaps, brought about by a hangover from that no man’s land between Christmas and New Year, where everything is floaty and muddled and scattered, and the other side, by a two punch combination of Mercury and Mars, as they both laughingly engage in a moonwalk dance battle, up in the ecliptic. Mars enters this retrograde’s final, most potent leg in the sign of Gemini, while Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is taking his sweet time, retrograding in Capricorn, the sign of authority, responsibility and ambition. Details are vague and gray, and focusing on tasks may require more energy that what we are used to.
The second half of is a stark contrast to the energetic rollercoaster/spaghetti that is the first 2 weeks of January. Mercury and Mars stop fooling around, finally reverting back to order. And to top it off, Uranus, the last retrograde planet finally takes a clue and goes direct, too, allowing energy to finally move forward smoothly! January caps off the retrograde season, and finally, with clarity, we can now truly welcome the incoming year with as much enthusiasm and exuberance as we have in us, with no fears of retrogade energy sabotaging our emotions.
Kidding aside, January is a month that gives us our bearings back, after quite a ride, from a couple of years back until now. We find our way out of this retrograde labyrinth, and after the collective exhale, there is relief. All planets turn direct this month, and we can rest assured of peace for now, at least for the meanwhile. ❤
