Once again, the brightest night of the month is upon us! Full Moons bring energies of completion and culmination, and oftentimes, flashes of emotional insights that were previously overlooked. This month’s FULL MOON happens in 23°15′ of SAGITTARIUS, the sign of freedom, truth, and the higher mind.
This month’s FULL MOON shines a light on an area in our lives where we are encouraged to take a leap of faith. Sagittarius is a sign that is centered on the pursuit of knowledge and truth. It is arguably the wisest of all the archetypes, as it actively seeks wisdom, wherever it may be found. What really sets it apart from all the others, however, is the relentless quality of its energy; more than a silent scholar who learns through instruction, Sagittarius, being a courageous fire sign, ups the ante by venturing forth, in search for experience that will not just supplement, but also validate, the lesson.
This courageous, fiery lunar energy however, exchanges harsh energy with Neptune, the planet of creativity and imagination. When connected through a square (90°), the more difficult manifestations of Neptunian energy emerges. Idealism becomes toxic, illusions become delusions, and creativity becomes confusing. Some, if not most of us are bound to make a few mistakes under this energy. The drive for freedom, creativity, or truth, may blur some boundaries, urging us to explore territory that we may not venture into, otherwise. As with any unfamiliar terrain, we might run onto a few dead ends, some highly emotional, some daunting. We might shoot unintended arrows towards those who remind us of caution. We might be dazed and confused and highly confounded as we soldier through the haze of this curiously strange adventure.
A saving grace is that SATURN (responsibility, limitation, and restriction), also converses with this Full Moon, via a harmonious, supportive sextile (60°). This is a safety net of sorts, taking the reins and pulling us back, every time we find ourselves about to fall into well disguised ego-traps. Morality mountains are almost always too high to scale, and rarely without cliffs. Most of us will slip and almost fall. Almost. Saturn’s gift.
As with all Full Moon energies, the next 2 weeks will wrap up, and eventually, we find our way out, weathered but wiser. Every step of the journey will be exhilarating and rewarding, regardless of the outcome.
