El Niño is still here, yes, but so are the June rains, adding ease in temperature, but hassle in terms of stickiness, flooding, traffic, and everything else that comes with typhoon season. Our perceived speed of time has rebounded considerably, from snail speed to full on warp mode. I mean, June na?
But yes, we are marking the mid-year, June, which is neither full on summer, or the crisp coolness of the “ber” months. We are in some kind of atmospheric limbo, where we get a buffet of everything cramped up in segments – infernal days and rainy nights, hot, prickly sunlight accompanied by a cool breeze, and every tropical weather combination of the usual suspects imaginable. We are in the same mind-frame of confusion too, as we enter the second half of 2023. Where are we, what are we, what is this?
June is a forgiving month, to be fair and precise. No juggernaut planetary alignments to shake us up and confound us to no end. What we have for now, is basic normality that may feel unsettling at times. Save for a couple of Uranus transits that mark the end and the beginning of the month, things feel almost normal, suspiciously so. A few subtle things to watch out for:

Venus dances into Leo first half of the month, bringing with her as much flair and magnificence as she could muster. Venus shows her flamboyant side in Leo, a sign which enjoys (and perhaps even requires) a theatrical showcasing of emotions. In fact, Not only does Leo tolerate dramatic feelings, it might even be fitting to pronounce that it requires it. This may be well and good, romantic and amusing at the very least! However, it helps to remember that Venus turns retrograde here next month, which means that the initial passion expressed can very quickly turn sour, if we are not mindful! This also means that Venus stays here for an extended period, much longer than usual dear reader, so there is no need to rush into matters of the heart.

Mid-month, tiny (but powerful) Pluto quietly sneaks back into Capricorn (institutions, capitalism), putting a temporary moratorium on the onslaught of AI related technology that seems to have flooded us in it’s brief, teaser stint into Aquarius. Prominent tech giants and thinkers have all called for a pause in terms of AI development, and with great cause. But Pluto eventually goes back into Aquarius, bringing with it regulation, and possible structures that allow for monetization.

Lastly, Saturn gears up for its annual but very first retrograde in Pisces, late in the month, bringing in a time for introspection, reflection and re-evaluation. Feelings are internalized and analyzed. It’s time to review your goals, responsibilities, and commitments, and to assess whether they are still aligned with your values and purpose. This retrograde can feel challenging, but it is ultimately a time for growth and transformation!
June allows us to live in the moment a little bit, dear reader, as we traverse through this brief period of adjustment, before more the more serious energies of the second half of the year take root. This is indeed a calm before the storm, but it’s a necessary calm, nevertheless. And we’ll take it, with arms wide open! ❤️
