We’ve reached the finish line, dear reader! December stands before us, the final chapter in this epic journey that was 2024. However, while it’s natural to feel eager about what lies ahead, it’s equally important to focus on what’s immediately illuminated by the headlights of our proverbial vehicle. Looking too far ahead risks missing the potholes, hurdles, and final challenges that still demand our attention. Navigating through this month may be tricky – the universe has decided to end this year with a bang, it seems like. And what a bang, indeed!

We have a rare Black Moon this December—a second New Moon occurring within the same month—emphasizing the powerful theme of beginnings. These New Moons serve as cosmic bookends, with the first taking place on the 1st of December and the second on the 30th, framing the month with opportunities for reflection and renewal. The days in between are secured by this unique energy, offering a profound chance to reset and realign before the year ends.

The rarest planetary retrograde of them all kicks off early this month: an incredibly intense MARS RETROGRADE, which overlaps with an already ongoing MERCURY retrograde! This MARS retrograde spans two powerful signs: Leo, the regal sign of the king, and Cancer, the nurturing sign of the womb. Whenever Mars turns retrograde, complications tend to multiply—and this time is no exception. Expect tempers to flare, with hot heads clashing and sharp tongues lashing out.
But this is precisely why preparation is key, dear reader. Knowing what lies ahead equips us to rise above the chaos. When we plan for challenges, we feel steadier, less shaken by what comes our way. After all, our level of nervousness is directly proportional to our level of preparedness. The great Kobe Bryant once said, “Confidence comes from preparation.” So prepare, we shall!

The 3 WISE MEN
On a more wistful and contemplative note, December is a month that astrologers and astrology enthusiasts always hold fondly, regardless of any religious alignments. This month, we commemorate the very first Christmas, the birth of Christ, which Christians around the world consider to be the beginning of the greatest story ever told.
This holy event, as told from the Bible and from oral tradition, is witnessed only by a handful: Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and sheep near the field around the manger, and three strangers from the east, the wise men, who knew of His coming through signs that they read from the sky.
They followed a star to find the infant Jesus, and honored him with gifts worthy of a king, no matter how humble his origins were. And most importantly, they protected him, by following God’s message, and not leading Herod to where Jesus was, allowing Him to grow up to live His ministry, as it was written.

Here is the biblical excerpt from the Bible, from Matthew 2:1-12, KJV (King James Version):
The Visit of the Wise Men
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him,
In Bethlehem of Judaea:
for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda,
art not the least among the princes of Juda:
for out of thee shall come a Governor,
that shall rule my people Israel.
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
