After a complex year of growth, change, challenges, and hope, we now cautiously step into another journey’s door – the adventure this time is the year 2024, dear reader; we all are painters with blank canvases, or better yet, we ourselves are the blank canvases, open and willing once more to be filled with the intricate colors of life. What pictures we create this time, is as good as anyone’s guess, but as astrology enthusiasts, we are able to look up at the sky and check for clues, just as generations before us have.
2024 is a year of preparation – 4 outer planets change signs by 2025, bringing unprecedented energy shifts that happen only once in our lifetimes, making this year pivotal in terms of mind-setting, foundation building, planning, and contingency-building,
First up, the familiar – after going back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius since early last year, PLUTO finally completely settles into Aquarius late this year, starting an uninterrupted 20-year voyage that ushers in an era where we are likely to redefine what it means to be human. AI, robots, even the reality of aliens, enter our consciousness, settling in eventually as part of our new normal. This year gives us a last chance to tie up loose ends and wrap things up in the area where Capricorn lands in our charts, an area of life where we have experienced incredible, life-changing intensity. Things ease up considerably after, and relief is expected. The intensity shifts forward to our Aquarius houses, where a whole new story waits to unfold.
SATURN, the planet of limitation, restriction, abut also of maturity and responsibility, changes signs early 2025, after 3 years of confusion in the kingdom of Pisces. Saturn moves to fiery Aries early next year, and the gentle but confusing disciplining makes way to a harsher, albeit sharper, more urgent sense of motivation and action. This year is the last chance we can utilize Saturn in the areas of our charts where structures are significantly challenged.
URANUS, the planet of shake-ups and surprises enter the last degrees of Taurus this year, preparing to transition to airy GEMINI, after 7 long years of life-altering lessons in the areas of our lives where Taurus lands. Uranus completes a full revolution around the zodiac roughly every 84 years, leaving a path of literal and figurative earthquakes and awakenings, wherever it treads in our charts. This year is the last chance to wrap up events in the area of our lives that were hit by Uranian lightning, which for the past 7 years, was abundant, even excessive.
lastly, NEPTUNE, the 2nd farthest planet in our solar system, moves signs by 2025 too! Neptune stays in a sign every 10-15 years, generally making it one of the system’s slowest travelers, second only to Pluto (depending on Pluto’s place in its orbit). Neptune often brings intense idealisms wherever it lands, and when it enters Aries, blind idealisms may become more insistent and courageous. Wherever this lands in our chart is where ideologies get amplified. This year is a great time to prepare for the possible disillusionment that Neptune’s departure may cause, and to develop baselines to measure up against, in the area it enters next. This serves as a floating device for when Neptune floods us with blinding ideologies that we may consider infallible.
