August’s New Moon is here, and once again, we find ourselves under a star-filled, moonless night. New Moon periods are windows of time where we may auspiciously set intentions, like planting seeds on fertile soil. Symbolically, we anchor our intentions to the lunar light, allowing these intentions to grow alongside the waxing of the Moon.
This month’s bold New Moon happens in the realm of FIXED FIRE, LEO, the SIGN of the KING!
The moon has caught up with the Sun again, as both luminaries partake in their monthly rendezvous, this time in the Sun’s home sign of Leo. This New Moon, as with all New Moons that happen in the Lion’s kingdom, invokes a sense of passion, creativity, and purpose – life seems to transform into a stage, with everyone you encounter seeming to play the part of the audience. Attention can be enticing, intoxicating, even. Leo, after all, is quite theatrical, and extremely generous in its performance, especially if showered with appreciation and applause.

It occurs beside Venus, which is currently retrograde, highlighting the undercurrent of confusion, nostalgia and wistfulness that Venus retrograde periods often bring.
